I'm a prize-winning poet and my 6th collection of poetry The Ishtar Gate was published in 2025 by Pavilion Poetry. I've worked widely in the arts as a producer, tutor and editor; and published academic and lyric essays. In 2022 I produced and directed the Sylvia Plath Literary Festival and co-edited the anthology After Sylvia (Nine Arches Press, 2022). I was Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Lancaster University (2009 - 25), and am now writing full time. The Cuckoo is my first novel.
