I am a Sydney-based writer who has spent some years living in China. I have taught English language and literature in Australia, and later in China, where my table tennis improved way more than my Mandarin. My principal publications are the historical novel 'Feast of All Souls', published by Vintage; the non-fiction 'Leaving Year Zero: Stories of Surviving Pol Pot’s Cambodia', published by the UWA Press; and the short fiction collection 'The Taxidermist’s Dance', published by HarperCollins.
