I am a painter, illustrator, and writer (primarily fiction: novels and short stories). I read widely, with a particular fondness for gothic novels and Victorian/Edwardian ghost stories. My first novel, published in Australia and the U.K., was nominated for the Commonwealth Prize for Best First Book and the New South Wales Premier's Award. I'm based in a tiny village in Italy with my exceptional and very talented dog and cat.
