Dubliner Fin Keegan lives with his family in the West of Ireland, overlooking a lake frequented by swans and ducks with not a single inhabited house visible from where he sits, working as an editor of academic monographs: a far cry from previous homes in four major cities, two of which never slept. He is equally surprised to find himself in a body that has travelled far now in time also.
