Mina waits for Mother to die. Haunted by the fire that took her childhood library, she has spent a decade dreaming of what she lost there, what Mother stole from her: the books with their fairytale worlds, and the door in the floor she knows must lead to one. She hopes all her dreams will be realised there, but by seeking freedom and love where fantasy and reality intertwine, will its dark horror and difference to her childish ideals – and her mortality – become too much to handle?
