In modern-day Melbourne, young Christopher's mysterious French chess partner Vincent bequeaths him what turns out to be a Picasso sketchbook stolen in Paris in 2009. He and his sister Sophie could be rich overnight . . . but how to market this magical possession? And is it really theirs to possess? Plus, they are beset by dangerous competitors and an alarming family connection. They enlist the help of charismatic South Sudanese curate Simon and embark on a surprising and risky course of action.
