I am a 63-year old London-based jazz/electronic/experimental composer and founder of the Sargasso label. This is my first book (57,500 words). 'Reprise and Coda' is a memoir of brothers, music, and a buried European past which braids a ten-day visit to my brother in Florida after his alcohol rehab with the hidden Jewish history that shaped our family across Europe, South Africa, and the UK. It’s a bittersweet story about childhood, identity, secrets, and the long echo of displacement.
