South Africa, 1997. A pilot lands in the bush to save passengers trapped on a flooded river crossing and is presumed drowned by military search and rescue. Why the military? He is later discovered injured—barely alive and paralyzed—by remote, illiterate tribesmen. Drawn into their lives by his privileged upbringing , his veneer dissolves as he learns of their agenda. He must fashion a “proof of life” indicator somehow and then try to escape with limited mobility, but how?
