At the same time, B is contacted about her estranged friend Sadie, which brings back memories from her troubled past. Both a coming-of-age story and a mystery, this dual narrative engages with the shame and loathing of our alcohol-infused culture and depicts how friendship and past relationships can impact a sense of self.
