Zlata Yaremchuk, a Ukrainian woman living in Ireland, she runs her own business after the death of her husband. A Ukrainian war veteran, Zlata returns to Ukraine to visit her family after her affair with Seamus, the local publican, peaks when his wife uncovers his and Zlata's relationship. in Ukraine, Zlata reconsiders the meaning of "home." She overcomes PTSD from her previous stint in the Ukrainian army and navigates a Ukraine that has changed drastically since she emigrated to Ireland.
