Amy Ester Goldmann, in her thirties, inherits a dilapidated farmhouse in Champagne. Searching for her Jewish identity, she starts a new life in the famous French wine region. Her vineyard borders that of older Bernice de Brugny leading a promiscuous and loveless life. Amy Ester has asked a young, handsome Ukrainian winemaker Vasyl to blend her champagne.
