Reality hasn’t been enough for me since childhood. Once my characters appear, they don’t leave me alone until I give them shape. They’re outsiders—young people who don’t belong, haunted by the past as their identities shift toward healing or wreckage. Trauma, desire, violence, and the pressure of community stand out against the absolute light and dramatic landscapes of Southern Italy. My writing is a visual act: I just see what I write. And I want the reader to see it too.
