Born in London, UK, I have lived most of my life in Cape Town, South Africa. I was educated at the Diocesan College and the University of Cape Town before becoming a high school English teacher and head teacher. I then coordinated professional development of teachers in 200 schools until my retirement. I have had a biography published by Footprint Press: "Charles Leonard: South Africa's Forgotten Revolutionary Leader". I have also self-published four books for children and a Young Adult novel.
