Sera Maddox Drake fell to Earth several eons ago and skulked around doing odd jobs (trilobite herding, quantum particle illumination, stromatalite swaddling, peirazomancy, data entry) until they found an opportunity to write a book. Alternatively, they find it both impossible and bizarre to humblebrag about their writing... which has actually won some awards. They live in a trapezoidal state in Flyover Country with their spouse, children, cats, and a gazillion rosebushes.
