I’ve always been drawn to unfair worlds, not because they’re unjust, but because that’s where the story really begins. As a child, Dickens’ villains made me furious; Uriah Heep, in particular, still does. I write about women history underestimates, fascinated by how people survive when love and goodness aren’t enough. I’m still chasing that childhood outrage, only now I turn it into stories.
