On West Green is my first novel. It follows diverse characters on their search for belonging in this part of Tottenham where I lived for twenty-three years, and centres on the beautiful Downhills Park. The book's content and structure are influenced by geographical perspectives: people-environment relationships, the identity of place, migration and inter-cultural tension, nature in the city and ecosystems both natural and human. If I win, I will donate the money to Medecins Sans Frontiers.
