I write to tell the truth. Often this isn't very pleasant. Writing is my way of letting my life speak. Pari Chehr is my pen name, chosen for reasons of safety, as my work addresses lived realities of women in modern Iran and we have family there. I don't seek public attention; I write quietly in the belief that literature can be a protest and stories can change hearts.
