I had a difficult year last year with my eldest child and I felt like I was constantly 'on' and had a hundred and one things rattling round my brain at any one point. Then in August, he got his GSCE results, which were excellent, and suddenly I didn't need to be 'on' anymore. A void opened up in my brain and before I knew it, and without any real conscious decision making, I had a pen in my hand and began writing my first book! 144,000 words later and I have the start of my trilogy. What a ride!
