I decided I wanted to start writing YA about 12 months ago. The likes of Jacqueline Wilson shaped me as a young female reader and her coming of age style stories infused with romance and a touch of rebellion resonated deeply with me, I felt moved to want to create similar stories with themes that I feel are important to the younger generation today. Animal rights, activism and vegan lifestyle choices are a strong undercurrent to the messages I hope to share as well as the challenges of youth.
