I was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa, De Wet served as a South African Air Force Loadmaster before working as a software developer, builder, and IT systems manager. He also competed in South Africa’s early MMA fight scene and trained fighters for the South African Police Tactical Squad. Some of the athletes he trained are still competing in global MMA organizations today. De Wet immigrated to Australia with his family in 2012.
