I'm a Scot, Irvine born - a town I haven't since returned to. I spent part of my life in Bangladesh, the country of my father, on whose death my family moved to Edinburgh. During this time, my mother made sure I fell in love with stories. I've travelled, made a few friends, tried to fall in love, and read thousands of books. I always wanted to write one myself. If I hadn't tried I'm certain I'd have come to despise myself. I have to write. If someone can take joy in my work, so much the better.
