I started writing a few short stories at university, not really with any particular goal in mind. By the fifth story, I touched upon a topic that deeply interested me, involving the birth of tourism in the Caribbean in the final years of empire and the effects this new industry would have on the region. I knew at that point that I really wanted to expand the concept. After graduating, I made up my mind to turn the concept into a full length novel, which I am currently in the process of editing.
