Aneil Fatania was born in Scotland, raised in Belgium, and studied in London. So obviously, he lives in Brisbane. He spent fifteen years working as a copywriter, graduated from the 2024 Faber Academy, and received a Varuna Residential Fellowship and FWA Alumni Award in 2025 for his debut novel, English-English. His writing blends character study and social commentary, dispatched with dry wit, freewheeling silliness and unforced sentiment.
