I was born in the UK, and grew up between Canada and the volcanic British island of Montserrat. I studied theatre and travelled the world onboard the most luxurious cruise ships at sea. Now, I live in New Zealand with my husband and a sausage dog, and work as a primary school teacher. My novels explore the intrinsic connection between people and places (Africa, Hawaii, Alaska, the Aden Sea…). Working on ships I saw what makes people tick and learned they'll do anything to protect their secrets.
