Tall tales from an old fisherman, full of drama and Caribbean flavour; how he caught the biggest shark ever, how he survived an unholy storm and days and nights stranded on the ocean, and how the mermaids dragged him under the sea. What if the Ancient Mariner was a Caribbean fisherman in an artisanal pirogue? ‘...the sea howling round we head. Bawling in we ears,’ he said. ‘And is the way it bawl. The way it scream.’ His voice got lower. ‘Wasn’t a natural sound.’
