DS Stuart Riley tried to get out of the shadow cast by his father’s past as a dirty Edinburgh cop. Now he’s back in the city. An explosion on a foreign ship docked in the city’s port has monopolised most of the force, leaving him to solve a vicious murder, with few resources and fewer officers he can trust. With panic on the streets and a killer loose, Stuart needs to solve this case to prove himself, protect his home, and avoid a his wife’s wrath if he misses the birth of his first child.
