Snatched Away

This is not a story about blame. This is not a story about politics. It is about what war does to a child’s mind. As a child, I was taken out of a war zone not because I was mistreated, but because I was fragile. My parents, overwhelmed by the chaos, did the best thing they could. My aunties and uncles cared for me, fed me, kept me safe. But nobody fully understood what was broken inside. “Surviving is not the same as healing.” A body can be safe while a heart remains in danger.
