In Shadow of Doubt, Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Halfpenny from the Major Investigation Team enlists the help of DC Danny Finn from the local CID team a homeless man is found murdered in the city of Lincoln at the beginning of the Christmas season. Lincoln is a beautiful city, popular with tourists, but like any city there is an undercurrent of criminality. When a second murder occurs a week later they face a race to discover what links the two victims and find the killer.
