While walking the Fishermen’s Trail in Portugal, Laini meets and falls in love with kiwi adventurer Jack, whose brooding nature is explained by the death of his childhood friend in an accident a few years prior. When Jack falls terminally ill, fate thrusts Laini back in time. Determined to change the future, Laini embarks on a fraught journey to try and save the love of her life and his best friend, only to find herself to be the reason the men’s friendship is tested to the limits.
