Travel down a spiralling time shifting helix alternating between the turbulent 1530s and the pre-internet age of 1994. Fr Francis Cavendish, an idealistic young priest, takes up his first parish, in the vicinity of Hampton Court. A young woman's body is found in the grounds of Hampton Court, laid out ritualistically. Francis becomes an amateur sleuth. Psychically aided by his ancestor, George Cavendish, Cardinal Wolsey's henchman, the answer lies within Tudor divorce machinations.
