When astronomer Stella Shepherd discovers a comet will strike Earth in nine days, she follows her estranged wife Cori into Appalachia's Radio Quiet Zone. Under the pretext of helping Cori find a rare wild herb, Stella shields her from the truth while attempting reconciliation. But hostile locals will stop at nothing to guard their valuable plant, and the comet grows brighter each night. Time is running out for Stella to embrace an uncertain future or certainly lose the love of her life.
