Will's life takes a drastic turn for the worst when his holiday romance with Steph comes to a grinding hault in the middle of Manhattan. Returning home to dreary old England, heartbroken and more lost than ever, Will decides the only way to escape a life on building sites and somehow get back to Steph, is to, 1) write the novel she once inspired him to write, and 2) dedicate it to her with the deluded belief that she might one day see it and fall helplessly into his arms.
