The Book of Skulls
by David Hutchison

Michael Thomson, a writer suffering from a perpetually guilty conscience, wakes chained to a basement floor. His captor is revealed to be a gruesome killer with a message for the world he believes only Michael can tell. The killer uses Michael's past to further his argument: the key to happiness is to give in to instinct. Michael convey horrible killings to the audience, face his own mistakes, and suffer terrible tone setting methods all with the promise of freedom upon completion of the tale.
