Why Do You Care? They're Just Criminals

WDYC? is the story of three teenagers swept up in a youth crime curfew, pushed through the youth justice system, and into a detention centre. Judges report: ‘An outstanding piece, and when I first read it, I had to take a break from reading anything else that day. When I came back to it, it moved me even more because of the contrast between the powerfully, poetic imagery of the prose juxtaposed against the violent setting, hosing a ‘monster’ of domestic violence.'
