The Visit
In a small New Zealand town Frank travels to see her estranged sister Carrie. She meets Maura, her B&B host, surly, almost unwelcoming and Frank determines not only to resolve things with Carrie but to uncover the reason for Maura’s demeanour. Between alternating decades, Frank and Maura’s stories collide with Maura’s long-ago lover Blunt and her autistic son, Hugh. A tapestry of ordinary lives weave together with snatches of intrigue as someone goes missing and a theft is uncovered.
