Violet is a fairy known as the Guardian, and she protects dozens of people throughout her life. Blue is a Dark angel on the run from his leader Inferno. When Violet becomes Blue's Guardian, she grapples with the guilt of her previous failed Guardian mission. As a battle between the Dark and Light sides of magic looms and the forbidden love between Violet and Blue grows, they work together to protect Blue from Inferno—and Violet must decide if she'll sacrifice her Light magic to save Blue.
