WHISPERS OF THE PAST
by Reneiloe Nyepele

Hedy, a failed artist, languishes in a neglected old flat in central London caring for its elderly tenant. His granddaughter Stella, who befriended Hedy at a life drawing group, assured her this arrangement would ease her financial worries, living as she would rent-free. But their relationship has soured, and the old man is growing increasingly difficult to care for – prompting memories of Hedy’s mother, a Holocaust survivor, and the darkness of her past to overwhelm her completely.
