Behold Ms Bernice Stone: She’s tenacious, intense, and the best friend you’ll ever have – provided she’s the only one. Bernice flees the city for a remote African farm for two reasons: to pursue a latter-day raison d'être; and avoid memories of those who have consistently failed her. But her wishes are thwarted when she can't sell her art and her landlord keeps stopping by.
