Former cancer patient Logan Maxwell wakes alone and undying in a research facility, his body unkillable and his mind erased. America has been cut off from the world, and pain no longer warns him when something is wrong. As Logan drifts through the collapse, hiding his undead nature, he meets allies, enemies, and people who should have stayed buried in his past. He does not yet know that the outbreak, and his condition, are bound to old traumas and secrets he was hoping never to face again.
