Every Spring Tide, the people of Salt gather to cull the seals. It is bloody work, but the tradition keeps money flowing and the seal's curse from spreading. Jo, longing to escape but forced to stay, grapples with her aging father and all-consuming fear of the sea. And then she meets Magdalena, uncanny and unpredictable. As blood spills into the Cornish sea, the women grow ever closer. But there is something deeply wrong in Salt. Something is coming to burn it all down.
