In 1930, the town of Newhawk lies at the edge of British Columbia’s wilderness, where law is distant and power is enforced by violence. Joseph Dreher arrives seeking peace from the ghosts of the Great War. Instead, he falls under the control of Jethro Wolfe, the cannery owner who rules the town through fear. A single act of murder binds the two men together, but loyalty built on blood cannot endure. As the past closes in, the pursuit of freedom becomes its own kind of prison.
