Billy Boys
The muddy pitch at Vale Park is the last place ex-footballer Paul Mouncey expected to end up. But when he’s tasked with coaching a cross-community youth team, he finds himself trying to unite boys from either side of Belfast’s bitter divide. Highglen and St. Pat’s: two groups of teens branded as wasters, manipulated by paramilitaries, and raised to hate. Football is supposed to be a game—eleven-a-side, a wee rubber ball—but for these boys, it’s a crucible. A lifeline. A shot at something more.
